The U.S Embassy in Yangon hosted the brief performance by Next level artists of Hip-hop music who arrived from US for artistic collaboration and social cooperation with Myanmar artists in Yangon, Monday.
        The next level program’s mission is to use hip-hop music and dance to foster cross-cultural creative exchange in diverse communities. They work to promote understanding and conflict resolution in the audiences, and support the professional development of artists in the communities.
        During the exchange visit in Myanmar, teams of MC, DJ, beat maker, and hip-hop dancer conduct public concert, interactive performances with local musicians, lecture demonstrations, workshops with diverse audiences.
        Director, Next Level Program, Mark katz said “The U.S state department help us decide where we should go around the world and we are very excited coming to Myanmar because such a vibrant country so we are really interested to connect with young people here in Myanmar. So by bringing together the hip hop community in Myanmar we think that they can develop the hip hop industry and artistry and they have even more successful they have in the past.”
        Cultural Affairs Officer, Embassy of United State of America, Winnie hofstetter said “This next level is the cultural exchange program and it focuses on Hip-hop so we do never a different culture program here in Myanmar. I think this is the important way to connect with people to show that we all the same and the music such a great way to build bridges between communities”.
        Team Myanmar will teach many young people and they will all come together and perform together for the final concert as the collaboration between US artists and Myanmar artists.
        MC, Big Piph said “I am not here just a teach, I am here learning as well so I want to give information but I try to learn more about Myanmar. So we are really talk alike, create alike and learn from each other”.
        Next Level programs also focus on musical entrepreneurship, conducting workshops and discussions on global music business best practices.
        Ambassador, Embassy of United State of America, Scot Marciel said “This is the part of cultural exchange program we do and we find brining young musicians from American hip hop. There are talking about entrepreneurship what happened in the communities and just the way connecting between young American and young people from Myanmar.”
        Artist Myo Kyawt Myaing said, Hip-Hop is very popular among Myanmar audiences. Rappers also can learn how from American musicians for their music creation through this event.
        Artist, Myo Kyawt Myaing said “This is such a nice program for the Myanmar young people who are interesting in Hip hop category. We also have our own hip hop culture and music creation.”
        Myanmar might be 25th country by the Next level program after Thailand, Indonesia, Brazil and more.
        Besides, it’s currently running programs in Myanmar, Egypt, Morocco, and Vietnam as well.
        Myanmar audiences can see the next level artists’ performances at France Institute on February 17th.
